The Opportunity

We are now looking for a full-time Community Engagement Officer based in either Northern Territory, Western Australia or South Australia.

This role serves as a vital connector between Supply Nation and Indigenous suppliers, reporting to the Community Engagement Manager and is critical for strategizing and executing engagement initiatives. Travel to various states and territories across the country to represent Supply Nation at meetings, conferences and other business-related activities will be required.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Championing cultural values and integrity within the organisation and with external stakeholders
  • Fostering a culture of learning, respect, and inclusion
  • Collaborating with teams to develop and implement community engagement strategies
  • Serving as the primary contact for Indigenous businesses, fostering connections
  • Offering insights and trend analysis to guide strategic engagement approaches
  • Establishing and maintaining effective communication channels with stakeholders
  • Representing Supply Nation at relevant events and educating on its mission
  • Assisting in the development of communication and promotional materials

What We Need from You

To qualify, you will need demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures, and issues affecting Indigenous Australians in business. Experience in community engagement, especially within Indigenous contexts, will also be essential.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • High level communication and liaison skills
  • Ability to prepare detailed reports and general correspondence
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Exceptional time management and prioritisation skills
  • A strong commitment to customer service.

As our ideal candidate, you will possess interpersonal skills that demonstrate a positive approach to client service and managing expectations of suppliers. You should be someone who cares deeply about cultural values and integrity and stands up for what you believe in. This role is perfect for someone who is proactive, responsive, and ready to take on challenges to foster and improve Indigenous business engagement.

This is a pivotal role that requires a dedicated individual who is passionate about making a difference in the Indigenous business sector and committed to excellence in all aspects of their work.

This is an identified position. Being Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational requirement.

The successful candidate will be rewarded with an attractive salary up to $80,000 (commensurate with skills and experience) PLUS Super and additional benefits including:
